Scrophulariaceae
Scrophulariaceae belong to the Figwort or Snapdragon family. The European Scrophularia, the common figwort was used to treat hemorrhoids, which were known as figs. Figworts were also used to treat scrofula, a form of tuberculosis carried in the milk of infected cows.
